Last Sunday I attended a wonderful event put on by my good friend and soon-to-be Naturopathic Doctor, Winnie Siu. It was called YOU Day – and its premise was to relax, recharge and remind us to take care of ourselves properly. Pure + Simple was there doing mini facials for participants and there was a yoga class, meditation class, intro to relaxing aromatherapy, reiki treatments and a guide to mindfulness (stress reduction and being meditative throughout normal life). It was a great day with such positive energy – I think it’s going to turn into an annual do.
But whether you attended YOU Day or not, it highlights a good point in our busy modern-day lives: we need to take time to work on ourselves. Being at peace is difficult, and something we need to work on. While this day was saddled with all kinds of tools of self-care, we all need to remember to focus on ourselves once and a while, in order to maintain wellness and happiness…and of course healthy bodies and glowing skin. If you get a chance to sign up for a meditation course, a stress counselor series or an event like this, do it…quickly.
And it was catered by Hearty Catering….great healthy dishes. I especially liked the Moroccan stew.
And since it was held at the Children’s Peace Theatre – you could eat outside in the lovely sun here! What a lovely spot.
Signs of positivity were everywhere.
