After the Holistic Vanity Launch Party, Product launch, Web Site unveiling, and our video bonanza – I’m about ready for a vacation. And, I’m really excited to be visiting La Zebra, an eco hotel in Tulum where Ben and I will be getting married.
Yes, because Ben is from jolly ol’ England, his side of the family didn’t care whether they came here or to Mexico so we decided on Mexico. For some reason Ben said he didn’t find Toronto romantic enough (Rogers Centre not sensuous enough for him?). Well, anyway we’ve decided on this cute boutique hotel because its full of charm. While it doesn’t have energy-zapping amenities such as air conditioning and tv, its still very elegant and each of our guests will get their own cabana. We also love how the hotel composts all of its restaurant food waste in it onsite garden and uses wind power along with a solar hot water system.
But my main choice for the place was La Zebra’s cuisine practices. It uses as many organics as they can in their kitchen and serves all cocktails with hand pressed juices – something I’m excited for for our big day’s meal. Actually, they use the coconuts grown on their own property to make the coconut cream for their Pina Coladas. Rum isn’t really for me – but the virgin version sounds yum!
I’ll be writing up a review once I get back – but I have visited it for the day while passing through the Mayan Riviera, and I think that is seems like a lovely place for those of you looking for a peaceful, wholesome, conscious holiday down south.
