What girl doesn’t love getting dressed up? When I was young, my favorite holiday wasn’t Christmas, or even my own birthday – it was Halloween. Talk about little princess (which, ahem, is still my nickname) – my mother would spend hours making my into Cleopatra or Jem from Jem and the Holograms. They were amazing – her design background was really put to good use – and I still have the remnants of about six crinolines because of this.
So how can I resist an all-green outfit on St Patrick’s day? It probably the only day that I can completely match without committing a fashion faux pas.
But of course, my holistic vanity (life)style permeates everything I do. I will breaking out my I HEART GUACAMOLE tee. I got this from a street vendor in New York and had to have it so badly that Ben and I had to scrape every bit of cash we had from our pockets. Mmmm…I really do heart guacamole. If I had my way we would have a day to celebrate the avocado. And I’m not the only one, because every time I wear this top I get people giving my thumbs up in the street, and we exchange knowing nods of as if we have some secret wisdom.
I’m gonna pair ’em with my bright green lulu pants (yes, I actually own a pair of bright green yoga pants – and no, I don’t know what I was thinking).
Lastly, I’m going to accessorize with earrings I just got from a Toronto-based artisan. Precious Buddha studs! Visit the Jackdaw and Pilate Etsy Store for many more lovely pieces of “jewelry inspired by life, love and nature”.
The Pure + Simple camp and I will be in NYC for the New Life Expo. So hopefully I will have company while I commit this fashion crime in the most stylish city on the planet.
